ST. CLEMENT PARISH LENTEN MISSION
PILGRIMS OF HOPE WITHIN A CHURCH OF MISSIONARY DISCIPLES - Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday March 23, 24 and 25 at 7 p.m.
Most of us equate being a disciple with the call to priesthood or religious life within the Church. A priest or religious should certainly be a disciple, but discipleship is not limited to the priesthood or religious life. The early disciples of Jesus included old and young, men and women united in a common faith and desire to follow Jesus. Baptism calls each one of us to become a disciple, a follower of Jesus. A disciple is not a passive recipient of Jesus' message of love! Pope Francis reminded us: "All the baptized ... are agents of evangelization." Through baptism, each one of us is called to be a disciple of Jesus and a Pilgrim of Hope in our world, living out the theme of our recent Jubilee Year of Hope.
These three Lenten Reflections will be led by Bishop John Corriveau OFM Cap. He served as the Minister General of the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin and then as the Bishop of Nelson B.C. In retirement Bishop Corriveau returned to live with his Franciscan community in Toronto. He will be with us to preach at each mass on the weekend of March 21/22, and for the mission talks which will be given each evening during mass on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday March 23, 24, and 25 at 7 p.m. in the church.
Please circle these dates on your calendar and plan to join us!
