Vaccination Ethics - A Catholic Perspective

已發佈 : Aug-23-2021

Some Catholics ask if Covid-19 vaccines are ethically acceptable. This message from the Office of Spiritual Affairs for the Archdiocese of Toronto speaks to their concerns and encourages full vaccination for all Catholics.

"Unless there is a medical reason to prevent vaccination, it is considered ethical and morally acceptable to use the available vaccines in the context of a global pandemic. In fact, there is a positive duty to save lives whenever we are able to do so. Pope Francis and Cardinal Collins have both publicly communicated the importance of vaccination as an act of charity and love. The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith has declared the COVID-19 vaccines to be morally licit and has said they can be used in good conscience".
