In his message for the Jubilee Year, Pope Francis wrote:

“We must not close our eyes to the dramatic situations that we now encounter all around us, not only in certain parts of the world. Each day we meet people who are poor or impoverished; they may even be our next-door neighbors. Often, they are homeless or lack sufficient food for the day. Let us not forget: the poor” are almost always the victims, not the ones to blame.”

Every year at this time our SVDP conference asks for your support to fund their outreach to our neighbours in need, not only at Christmas, but all year round. Letters have been mailed out to previous donors, and a pulpit talk will be given next weekend of November 22/23 in advance of the collection on November 29/30.

Please use the special St. Vincent de Paul Christmas envelopes (stapled inside the bulletin today or available at the doors of the church) and make cheques payable to St. Clement - St. Vincent De Paul Society.
