MEMO - RECENT PROVINCIAL ANNOUNCEMENT RE: DRIVE-IN RELIGIOUS SERVICES (May 22, 2020)

The following memo was sent via email to parish pastors regarding the provincial announcement regarding drive-in religious services.

Dear Fathers,

I pray that you are keeping well.

Recently, the Government of Ontario has amended its Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act, to allow for drive-in religious services.

The amendment, however, contains several restrictions which would make the celebration of Holy Mass unfeasible.

Accordingly, Cardinal Collins is instructing all parishes, missions, and chaplaincies to not celebrate Mass in parking-lots.

I am very grateful for your collaboration on this matter.
